Whether you’ve got questions about the formula, the texture, the finish, we’ve got you covered.
No one could have expected the Purito SEOUL Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream to blow up all over social media, but the skincare enthusiasts have caught onto this formula and are giving it the spotlight it deserves. This cream is a part of the brand’s revamped Mighty Bamboo collection that targets damaged and sensitive skin, providing gentle and nourishing care to nurse the skin back to health. Is it worth your money, time and attention? Let’s take a deep dive into it.
Formula: first, let’s break down the 2 main ingredients, which are Bamboo extract and Panthenol. Bamboo extract contains nutrients and minerals that are similar to the moisture the body naturally produces. It helps to maintain the skin barrier and protect the complexion against external aggressors, great for if you’re suffering from damaged skin. The second key ingredient is Panthenol, which also contributes to the health of the skin barrier by providing hydration and locking it into the skin.
Looking closer at the ingredients list, we spy Squalane that smooths and softens the skin, Sodium Hyaluronate for additional moisture, and Madecassoside to calm any potential redness or irritation.
Texture and finish: upon application, the cream has a cooling sensation that helps to calm said redness and irritation. Its texture is lightweight and watery, but has a nice weight to it that doesn’t make it feel like it’ll evaporate from the skin as soon as it’s blended in. Upon the topic of blending, it melts into the skin like a dream with no stickiness, heaviness or greasiness. What you have left once it completely sinks into the complexion is a naturally radiant finish that isn’t overtly glowy, but makes the skin look healthy and quenched. It’s the type of easygoing formula that will get along with many different skin types.
Packaging: there’s nothing fancy about the tube that this viral cream comes in, but it’s perfect for dispensing the right amount of product. Each tube gets you a hefty 100ml of product that can last you up to 2-3 months, depending on your frequency of application – given the formula, we foresee you applying this any chance you get.
Other things to note: Purito SEOUL deems this formula suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It’s free from artificial fragrance or essential oils, and is a vegan-friendly formula as well. Pre-launch testing of this cream has a 100% approval rate from users, of which they agreed the cream is gentle, beneficial to the skin’s hydration levels, and provides a healthy glow.
Editor’s POV: the minute I tried this formula, I knew it was going to be a hit. It’s sophisticated in the way that it’s hydrating without being too rich, and it genuinely feels comforting on the skin. During the winter, I’d use this as my AM moisturizer before sunscreen; if I were to use this at night, I would have to layer something else on top (a cream or a face oil) to make sure my dry skin is sufficiently hydrated.
